The IFIRE project, led by AIRlabs Austria in collaboration with Pegasus Research & Development GmbH, Graz University of Technology, and FH JOANNEUM, focuses on the performance assessment of UAVs under extreme weather conditions, particularly icing. With the increasing integration of unmanned aerial vehicles across various sectors and the growing demand for beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations, ensuring the safety and reliability of these technologies in challenging meteorological conditions is crucial.

IFIRE addresses this challenge by developing an innovative test site for natural icing conditions. The project includes conducting flight tests to collect critical data and developing a robust prediction model for icing conditions.
